Food Drives
/Camden Area Christian Food Pantry has been fortunate to receive a couple of recent annual food drives.
The week before April vacation, the Camden-Rockport Middle School held their annual food drive as part of School Spirit Week. Organized by their school nurse, Gretchen Kuhn, CACFP received many boxes of donated food. There was a challenge to see which grade level could collect the most items. This year it was the 7th grade, but we thank all the students in grades 5-8 for their participation.
Just recently a second food donation came from the annual Camden Post Office food drive collection. We alway appreciate the bounty we receive as a result of this effort. This year netted us even more food. A heartfelt thank you goes to the postal workers who offer to add this to their normal workload for the day. It is voluntary on their part. Also, many thanks to the community members who generously donated the food.
Both these efforts (as well as other efforts during the year) help to restock our shelves and bring a variety of foods we don't normally get through our regular channels of food acquisition.
Again many thanks from the CACFP Board of Directors.
