CACFP has also received a couple other donations since our last post that we would like to recognize.

One is the generous periodic donation of small vases of garden flowers. Wendy Kirklian of Camden has brought flowers at different times throughout the summer to hand out to our families. Well, the garden season is over, but she thought it would be nice to bring a pop of color to our families for Thanksgiving by purchasing some flowers and creating small bouquets to hand out. Such a thoughtful way to bring a little extra cheer to our families. These flowers always bring a smile to the faces of the ones who receive them.

The same day Bridget Mariner, owner of Union St Sour Dough in Camden, brought 20+ plus loaves of fresh bread (still warm from the oven) that people could enjoy as part of their Thanksgiving meal.

She has made deliveries before as well. It is part of a program she sponsors called the Community Loaf Program. Community members can purchase a loaf of bread at a discounted price that will be given to people in need. Bridget has chosen CACFP as one of the pantries she donates these loaves to. She said her philosophy is “Everybody deserves good bread”. Many thanks to her clients, and to Bridget as well who donated some extra loaves herself, for literally bringing some warmth to our food pantry families.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
