Annual Turkey Ride

The Camden Area Christian Food Pantry was the lucky recipient of almost 40 turkeys to be given to our clientele signing up to receive one. It was part of the annual Turkey Ride event sponsored by Maine Sport in Rockport and Bay View Collection in Camden. About 30 bike riders, young and old, started at Maine Sport, rode to Camden Hannaford where they purchased a turkey and then continued their ride to the pantry located on Mt Battie Street in Camden. It was a sight to behold as all the bike riders pedaled into our parking lot to unload their cargo, rest a few minutes and then head out en masse. We are so appreciative of their efforts and generosity. We also thank Bob Josselyn at Camden Hannaford for donating 10 of those turkeys. Several pantry board members were on hand to receive the turkeys, to extend our many thanks and then wait for clients to come and pick up their Thanksgiving birds. It is an event Maine Sport hopes to continue doing.
